Nik Makino
Nikolson Makino (born 1995) is a Filipino rapper. Makino grew up in Tondo, Manila, and began rapping at the age of 16. His tracks "Neneng B" and "Lexi" went viral in 2020 but the lyrics drew criticism for their perceived sexual objectification of women. After starting a family, Makino grew concerned about how children listening to those songs were influenced. On his debut album, Hype One's (2022), Makino aimed to take his music in a more wholesome and personal direction. He appeared on the Billboard Philippines Songs chart twice with the Flow G collaborations "Moon" (2022) and "We Made It" (2024). With his next album, THE ALBUM IS DONE (2025), Makino wanted to balance the brash energy of his youth with his more self-aware side.
