Mike Reid
Michael Barry Reid (born May 24, 1947) is an American songwriter, singer, pianist, musical-theatre composer, and former professional American football player. Before entering music full-time, he was an All-American defensive tackle at Penn State and played five seasons for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL). He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1987.
Reid has written 13 number-one country hits. Among his best-known compositions are Ronnie Milsap's "Stranger in My House", which earned Reid the Grammy Award for Best Country Song, and Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me", written with Allen Shamblin. As a recording artist, Reid reached number one on the country chart with "Walk on Faith" in 1991. He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2005.
